SHR Committee Role - SHR Journal Editor   

Scottish Hill Runners (SHR) is seeking a new committee member to join us at an exciting point in our development. We are testing a new website, running a small grants scheme, and progressing several initiatives informed by recent member surveys on women’s participation in hill racing and age banding within the SHR championships.

The key role we are seeking to fill is leading the annual production of the SHR Journal. This is a much-loved publication bringing together stories and events from across the Scottish hill running community.  

Responsibilities include:

• Advertising for submissions
• Collecting written pieces and photographs
• Working with contributors to develop ideas into completed articles
• Reviewing, copy-editing and proofreading content
• Working with the graphic designer to bring the Journal together
• Coordinating printing and distribution

Ideally you would also be able to help strengthen communication with our membership and the wider community. This might include contributing to the website development project and helping to shape SHR’s presence across social media.

The successful candidate will join the SHR Committee, attend quarterly meetings, and take part in the decision-making that guides the organisation.
